Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how DevBreak ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use any DevBreak service — the website devbreak.software, our online courses (Corwin VibeCoding for Beginners, Corwin VibeCoding Advanced), Corvyn macOS application, and our website development services.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Course registration — When you enroll in a course, we collect your name and email address.
- Survey responses — Optional answers you give when entering the beginner course (used to improve content).
- Contact form / inquiries — When you submit a website-development inquiry or contact support, we receive your name, email, company, project type, budget, and message.
- Purchase information — Payment is processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy. We receive your name, email, and purchase status — never your card or banking details.
- Quiz answers & progress — Stored to track your course completion and grant access to advanced content.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics — Once you accept cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects anonymized data about which pages you visit, time spent, and basic device info. Default state is denied (no analytics) until you explicitly accept.
- Server logs — Netlify (our host) may collect standard logs (IP address, browser type, request paths) for security and infrastructure purposes.
- Corvyn — The Corvyn macOS app collects no telemetry, no crash reports, no usage data. All system stats are read locally and never transmitted.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve our courses, services, and Corvyn.
- Send transactional emails (welcome, course access, purchase receipts) via Resend.
- Process payments and grant course access via Lemon Squeezy.
- Respond to support requests and project inquiries.
- Validate Corvyn Pro license keys via the Lemon Squeezy API.
- Understand site usage (only with your cookie consent) to improve user experience.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following processors to operate our services:
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use Google Consent Mode v2. By default, all analytics and advertising cookies are denied. They activate only after you explicitly click "Accept" on the cookie banner. You can clear your decision by removing site data in your browser, and the banner will appear again.
Strictly necessary cookies (such as your language preference and course session) are stored locally and are required for the site to function.
5. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored in encrypted databases (Supabase, EU region). Communication is encrypted in transit via TLS. Course progress and verified buyer status are tied to your email address. Corvyn license keys are stored locally on your device using macOS sandboxed UserDefaults.
6. Data Retention
- Course progress & quiz answers — retained while your account is active. Deleted on request.
- Purchase records — retained 10 years for tax and legal compliance.
- Survey responses — retained indefinitely in anonymized form for research.
- Contact inquiries — retained 2 years after last interaction.
- Analytics data — retained according to GA4 defaults (14 months).
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or Serbia, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict processing
- Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw cookie consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email support@devbreak.software with the subject "Privacy Request". We respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
DevBreak services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us immediately and we will delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
Some processors (Lemon Squeezy, Resend, Google) are based outside the EU. Data transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
